I graduated from the University of South Florida, here in Tampa in 1972. I obtained my law degree from the Stetson School of Law in Saint Petersburg, Florida in 1975.
After graduating from Stetson I worked as an Assistant State Attorney for the State Attorney's Offices in Polk County and Marion County. Working for two different State Attorneys provided me with insight into the problems that many people, both the person charged with a crime and their family members, face. My work made it necessary for me to quickly learn and understand how our court system really works. As a prosecutor I conducted over 125 jury trials and handled thousands of cases.
During the late 1980's I started a printing business that I turned into a multimillion dollar company. I eventually sold the company and returned to a career of practicing law in 1995. My business experience helps me understand the problems facing my business clients; I personally encountered many of those same problems.
After representing myself in my own divorce I became very aware of the problems facing parties going through a divorce. A divorce can be stressful and confusing; BUT it presents you with an opportunity to start your life over. My job is to eliminate the confusion by telling you upfront how the legal system works and what you should expect. I also strive to keep your stress level as low as possible while working toward a fair and equitable resolution of your case.
My divorce was the determining factor in my decision to dedicate a substantial portion of my practice to Divorce and Family Law. I believe we all become who we are from our challenges and experiences in life and through my own failures and successes I have learned how to bring a fair and compassionate perspective to the table when dealing with each and every unique client I am privileged to represent.
I am the only attorney you will speak to. I personally answer all phone calls and respond to all emails as quickly as possible, usually within a matter of hours. People who know me will tell you, I may not always say what you want to hear, but I will always tell you the truth as I see it and I will work very hard for you if you place your trust in me.
